The Skinny Blog Engine

Overview

The Skinny Blog Engine is the perfect blog system for Ruby on Rails developers. Most blog software is full of bloat, engineered for people who don't know their way around a console. The Skinny Blog Engine is a minimalist blog engine for Ruby on Rails developers, developed by Ruby on Rails developers.

We Like Minimal

The development of TSBE was created out of our desire to have a simple, better fitting blog engine for our needs as web developers. We needed an engine generic enough to be usable across multiple projects, but also an engine that was easily extensible because one size never fits all.

In TSBE you don't need to write your post in a half baked over complicated interface. Write your post in the app/views/posts directory and everything will just work. Write your posts in your favourite text editor; Format your posts in Erb, Haml, HTML, or whatever you want; Pull in images, use Rails helpers, access your models; All the Ruby on Rails goodness with none of that crippling web form interface bloat.

Straight after installation you'll find post index and show post actions, as well as an ATOM feed available via posts_url(:format => 'atom'). Once you've made your first post, commit to your repository, and then deploy through your existing deployment procedures.
